until Monday before last, when it would only open in Multitrack View, and trying to get it into Edit View would crash it. This was fine by me, I had everything I would need. And, upgraded immediately to 3.0.1, the last update before they slipped it into their "pay-by-the-month-forever" Creative Cloud. So, I went to Adobe, downloaded a program I'd already paid some bucks for, and used their free version, with the updated serial number. Frankly, 2.5 was still working fine for me, so I didn't decide to switch over until 2014, so I got out my fresh, shiny new discs.and discovered, they wouldn't install anymore, because.Adobe was giving the product away free now, and I needed a universal serial number. Sometime in the 'teens, when I went to work starting my online station, I decided to bite the bullet and pay full price for Adobe Audition 3.0. Dutifully, I did the updates, tried the plug-ins, bragged about the user-friendliness that put more "pro" systems to shame. Used CoolEdit, then Adobe Audition, for years - took me even longer, to convince every radio station I worked at, they needed it in their Production suites, as well.
